Green Mortgage Broker | Paperless Mortgages
Working harder to save our planet.
Technology can be our friend one day and our foe the next. When placing and sourcing mortgages, technology saves us a tremendous amount of time and ensures that we secure the best possible mortgage deal using the immediate up to date rates from the lenders from the whole of the UK Lending Market Place, whether it be from the High Street lenders, or from a specialist lender.
At KMS we have gone that one step further. We believe that technology can also assist us and our clients in the preservation of our planet... HOW?
Can a mortgage borker be Green & Paperless...? Almost, has to be the only answer.
An experiment has been taking place over the last 5-6 months with administering and placing client’s mortgages over the telephone/e-mail. (For those who are comfortable with it). Illustrations and documents are e-mailed to the client for approval along with any quotations for insurances or protection requirements. Today most Lenders & Insurers only need a signed declaration and Direct Debit Mandate to proceed with a mortgage application as the declaration forms part of the contract from the completed application. So there is no longer any need to print out 30+ pages of an application form, along with the other information that accompanies the mortgage or insurance application process.
In addition to the above, as there is less need for commuting between clients and appointments, our Advisors use their cars less, therefore creating less pollution and also allows more processing and administration time for our clients. But wait - there is more... Many companies strive for a paperless office/environment, and it is difficult to find one that is TRUELY paperless with people printing out their e-mails to read, post arriving with nice glossy pictures etc etc. Every client file at KMS is now electronic. Every document is scanned to our secure and triple backed server for immediate retrieval and securely shredded for loan recycling. Applications are NOT PRINTED (when lenders allow) they are printed to file and again stored on our server system.
Not only that, we have established our systems to allow our Advisors to work remotely. What this means is that our Mortgage Advisers, if they choose, can work from home, whilst having the full and complete access to the client file at all times. Communication links are permanently established from home to office therefore allowing the client to benefit from a full service whilst offering our Advisers the true flexibility of enjoying a flexible working environment but still retaining full control of their client and their files. What's more, if the Adviser doesn’t need to leave his home and travel for 30+ minutes just to get to the office, we have just got that little bit greener!
There are also Green Mortgages AKA Ethical Mortgages/Sustanable Mortgages There are only a few lenders who support this at present:
GREEN MORTGAGE LENDERS INCLUDE:
-
Norwich & Peterborough
-
The Co-operative
-
The Ecology Building Society.
The main thing these lenders have in common are that they promote reforestation schemes to be carbon neutral
